Thomas C.  Ellis
THOMAS C. ELLIS age 52 of Brecksville. Beloved husband of Diane for 26 years; loving father of Kaitlyn, Thomas W. and Kourtney; devoted son of Thomas B. and Marlene (nee Daubert) Ellis; dear brother of Kathleen, Richard, Karen, Michael and Michelle; dearest uncle of many. Tom was born in Ashland, OH on April 27, 1958. He attended St. Mary’s School in Mansfield, OH, Madison Comprehensive High School and graduated with a BS in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace College and later an MBA from Ashland University. He had a 30 year career in business, marketing and sales. Tom was an active participant at St. Basil Church. He was involved with the Eucharistic Ministry, CYO Athletics, as a coach and director, and most recently started a parish cancer support group. An avid outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed hiking, fishing and was a longtime runner, who participated in several marathons. He especially enjoyed his time spent in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and at the family cottage on the Allegheny River in Pennsylvania. Tom was a devoted family man who was most proud of his wife and three children. His oldest daughter, Kaitlyn, will graduate in June with a BA in Psychology from The Ohio State University and will pursue graduate studies in the fall. His son, Tom, is completing his freshman year at The Ohio State University with a focus in history. His youngest daughter, Kourtney is a freshman at Brecksville Broadview Heights High School. Tom was diagnosed with brain cancer in January 2009 and courageously battled the disease, pursuing all avenues of treatment. He passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 7, 2010. Family will receive friends at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE RD., BRECKSVILLE, OH 44141, TUESDAY, MAY 11, 2010 FROM 2-4 AND 6-8 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial at will be held at St. Basil Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 10 A.M. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH).
