Obituary for Hazel Mae Fetzek (Edwards)

HAZEL M. FETZEK, age 88, formerly of Broadview Heights, OH and Port Clinton, OH for the most recent 23 years. Hazel was born August 9, 1930 in Mayfield Village, OH and passed away June 27, 2018 in Atlanta, GA. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymon Fetzek for 57 years. Loving mother of John Fetzek (Marian) and Mike Fetzek (Judy). Devoted grandmother of Brian, Adam, Michael, and Ryan Fetzek. Cherished great grandmother of Riley and Kaden Fetzek. Dear sister of Virginia Balcik and the late Marguerite Lohiser, Robert Edwards, William Edwards, Dorothy Harland, and Faye MacDonald.

Hazel was the Salutatorian of Kirtland High School Class of 1948. She was a 35 year member of the Brecksville Methodist Church and Choir. She was instrumental in her husband’s election and re-elections as Mayor of Broadview Heights. As “First Lady” of Broadview Heights, Hazel headed numerous charitable drives and events.

Hazel’s Memorial Service will be held at the Brecksville United Methodist Church, 65 Public Square, Brecksville, OH 44141 (Corner of Brecksville Rd. and Route 82) on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 3 p.m. where family and friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will take place at Knollwood Cemetery, 1678 SOM Center Rd., Mayfield Heights, OH 44124, on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 10:00 am.
