Obituary for Vivian T. Samerdyke (nee Muliolis)

Vivian T. Samerdyke (nee Muliolis)
VIVIAN T. SAMERDYKE (nee Muliolis), lifelong music and animal lover, died early Sunday morning. She was 87.

Vivian was the beloved wife of the late Frank R and the loving mother of Mark, Diane Rust (Michael) and Karen Puzder (Raymond). She was the proud grandmother of Matthew, Mary, David and Jane and dear sister of the late Bernard, Joseph, and Donald Mull, Rosemary Fiedler, Marjorie Leiblinger and Jane Smith.

Vivian was a devout Catholic all her life, and a devoted parishioner of St. Basil the Great church for six decades. She happily served as a sacristan, cantor and altar server. Vivian also sang in the funeral choir, helped with funeral luncheons and was one of many who laundered and ironed the church linens.

For nearly 40 years, Vivian was an active member of Brecksville Little Theater. At one time or another, she handled sound, props, makeup, and the box office. She even took a turn on the stage a time or two. In the 1980s, she won the Alfred T. Jones Award which honored her for her dedication and service to BLT.

Vivian always offered to help anyone in need and dedicated her life to raising her children and taking care of her family. When her children were older, she then became a long-time and valued employee of the Spanish Tavern in Brecksville. Upon retiring, she volunteered often at the Brecksville Senior Center.

Vivian and her husband, Frank, were avid golfers. Together they visited and golfed in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and several countries in the Caribbean.

Family will receive friends at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE RD., BRECKSVILLE, OH 44141 on Friday, February 2 from 4-8 p.m. Vivian's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH 44141 Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH).
