JOSEPH C. WASKO, age 98, longtime resident of Garfield Heights and 40 year owner of Wasko’s Marathon; loving husband of the late Lillian (nee Wieczorek); cherished father of Jim (Donna), Roy (Barbara) and Joseph; dearest grandfather of Dorothy Lamvermeyer (James), Jimmy (Aubrey), Gina, Scott (Heidi), Kevin (Kristin), Lindsay Biondo (Ron), Raymond and Michelle Lind (Keith); loving great grandfather of 12; beloved brother of Stanley and Chester and the following deceased: Henry, Kate, Sophie Mraz, Betty Lesniak, Rose Sikon and John. He was a founding member and active participant in St. Monica’s Parish. Also, a past Commander and life time member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1812. Family will receive friends at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE RD., BRECKSVILLE, OH 44141 on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2 - 6 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at the FUNERAL HOME, Monday, January 30, 2017 at 9 a.m. followed by Joe’s Mass of Christian Burial at ST. MONICA CHURCH, 13623 Rockside Rd., Garfield Heights, OH 44125, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s name can be made to the Ohio Veterans Home, Attn: 3 South Memory Care Unit, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.
