Ernest William "Bill"  Gear
ERNEST WILLIAM GEAR, age 77, passed away February 3, 2016. Beloved husband of Hazel for 58 years; loving father of Deborah, Gregory, and Howard and his wife Therese; devoted grandfather to Stephanie, Joseph, Geoffrey, and Meagan; dear brother of Delores Drlik (John), Dr. Robert Gear (Gina) and Wanda Herron (William, deceased). Ernest was preceded in death by his parents Ernest C. and Catherine Gear.

Ernest was a graduate of Cleveland State University. He began his career as an apprentice tool and die maker at Republic Steel and retired as a Senior Executive in the steel industry. Ernest enjoyed farming and gardening at the family farm in Medina, where he was an amateur bee keeper as well. He enjoyed boating and fishing and for many years docked a fishing boat in the western basin of Lake Erie. Ernest especially enjoyed spending holidays, birthdays, reunions and vacations with his family.

Family will receive friends at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE RD., BRECKSVILLE, OH 44141 on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the FUNERAL HOME on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Brecksville Cemetery.
